Oracle could easily explain this by saying “yes it is a bug, but the real cause of this mess is that Sun changed the way that BigDecimal.toString() method behaves”. Good explanation, except the fact, there is another bug in Oracle’s code handling PreparedStatement.setBigDecimal() methods.
